Hint, hint - he beat the British.

From this angle, I would say George Washington, but could be any fella that wore that attire and a wig.

How you doing there, Janet? All rested up now, from the bash at John's?

A wig you say, we all thought it was real.

Hint #2 - This is a famous emcampment site of the American Revolution in 1776 where Washington and his men spent a difficult winter while fighting the British.

Valley Forge. I think there are 3 statues of Washington there - one seated, one on a horse, and this one. Is that right? Of course I like the equestrian statue best!

George Washington in Valley Forge?
Hi Janet...loved seeing you in the photo's of John's. Looks like it was a great success and you all look like you're working hard and having fun! Bet you were all 'nackered' as you say over there..when it was all done. Enjoy your weekend!

Good Grief, Janet, if I had bothered to look, it says George Washington on his stand thing! There are so many statues of him, I haven't a clue where this one is located... beyond being outside. LOL!
Sorry :(

Yes -I wondered who would have the good sense to try enlarging the photo to read the inscription !The lovely lady who took the time and trouble to send this to me [thank you Arlee] has been giving you all clues-she lives in Pennsylvania !
Well done Sharon for identifying him without cheating and Terry for getting both answers right ! xx
